Classroom wheels — a name picker, a class activity randomizer, and more.
A focused set of 10 free wheel templates built for the front of a classroom — a name picker for cold-calling, a class-activity randomizer to mix the day up, group-project role assignments, brain breaks between lessons, writing prompts, and subject roulette. Every one of them runs in Presentation mode on a projector, with the result big enough to read from the back row.
Quick answer
If you want a free classroom spin wheel that looks intentional on the projector, Roue's Classroom set is built for exactly that. The Name Picker is the most-used template — paste a roster, spin, and the result scales up in Presentation mode. The Class Activity wheel adds a small jolt of variety (Read · Discuss · Write · Present · Draw · Solve), and Brain Break templates give the room a 30-second reset. You can edit any of them in place, save your own version, and share a link to a colleague.

How teachers use them
For cold calls, Name Picker on the projector lets the wheel make the choice instead of the teacher — it changes the social dynamic and keeps reluctant students engaged. Combine with the Number picker's draw-without-replacement to avoid repeats over a class period.
For group work, Group Project Roles gives each member a clear job: Leader, Recorder, Presenter, Timekeeper, Researcher, Editor. Spin for each student in turn, or for one role at a time.
For pacing, Brain Break slots into a five-minute reset between lessons; the segments are short and physical (Stretch · Dance 30s · Funny face).
Frequently asked questions
What's the best free name-picker wheel for classrooms?
Open the Name Picker template, paste your roster one name per line, and spin. The wheel scales to fill a projector via Presentation mode, the called name shows large enough to read from the back of the room, and you can delete a name once drawn so the next spin doesn't repeat it. No login required.
Can I show the spin on the classroom projector?
Yes. Every Roue wheel has a Presentation mode that hides the controls and fills the screen with just the wheel and the result. Press ESC to return to the normal view. The same view works for the bingo caller, dice, and number-picker modes if you switch.
How do I cold-call a student without repeating?
Two options. With the wheel, delete the called name from the list before the next spin. For an automatic no-repeats flow, use the Number picker against your roster numbers with the 'draw without replacement' option turned on — each draw is a new number until everyone's been called, then you reset.
Do the templates store student names?
No. The names you type stay in your browser. Saved boards live in local storage on the device you're using — there's no account, no server-side storage, nothing sent to Roue's servers.
